Hello, My used-to-be-stable SQL server 2000 running on windows 2000 server
has started freezing whenever I make attempt to open the enterprise manager.
It does so at an interval of 1/2- days and the solution at this point is to
restart the machine.
This makes me to restart the machine at an interval of 1-2 days.
Can somebody fix me out.

Is it only Enterprise Manager that's freezing or is QA freezing as well? Are
there any other programs on the machine that are freezing?
Also, you might want to run a Performance Monitor and a SQL Server Profiler
to verify what is going on when your Enterprise Manager freezes. PerfMon
will tell you if it's a network or hardware issue. Profiler will let you
know if it's a query issue or something related.
And lastly, have you tried re-installing Enterprise Manager? Look for the
SQL Server Enterprise Manager.msc, rename it, then look for the same file on
your SQL Server CD and copy it over to the folder where the renamed msc is.
See if that helps. But only do this if you haven't found anything via
PerfMon or Profiler. This won't help if your problem is
network/hardware/query related. It'll only help if your Enterprise Manager
interface is corrupted.
