Enterprise Manager Slow

We have a SQL Server 2000 loaded on a server with 2 Xeon CPU & 2 GB of RAM.
SQL server is configure to use all the CPU & 1.5 GB of RAM. This SQL server
is acting as a repositary database for all the locational data. No of
databases on the server is 95 including master, model, msdb will be 120+
within next few months. Average database size is 2GB per database, where as
one database is of 40GB+.
My problem is whenever I try to open the database list on Enterprise manager
either in the server or in my pc it takes 10 to 15 minutes to open. where as
in query analyzer there is no issue.
Can anybody help me how i can improve the performance of Enterprise manager.
Thanks.
Check whether you have turned on the "Autoclose" option in your databases.

Enterprise Manager Security

I am trying to retrict access to SQL Server by the NT Administratoe, my
question in two parts:
1. SQL Server 2K and Win 2K Server are loaded on the Same Box. Is there a
way to prevent the NT Administrator gaining access to SQL Server through
Enterprise Maanager?
2. If not is there a way to prevent the NT Administrator making any changes
via Enterprise Manager
Any pointers would be gratefully accepted
MOCHi,
Solution is : Remove SYSADMIN role from BUILD/Administrators.
But this will lead in DB MAintenance plan tasks to fail. So try to avoid
this. Still OS Admins will be able to browse the Enterprise manager.
In general "OS Administrators" can do any activity in the Server being he is
the one administering the entire server and normally
he wont do any thing harm.
Thanks

Probably want to review this article as well:
http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...kb;EN-US;263712
Although it talks about clustered SQL Servers most of the info applies to
stand-alone instances as well...

enterprise manager doesn't load

me bad - i installed visual studio (with sql express) then put the patches on
and sp2 for sql express.. then loaded the development version -- now
enterprise manager for sql 2005 won't load --
how do i make it - it doesn't give an error - just isn't there.
Do you mean Management Studio?

|||yes - it turns out that you have to have IIS installed to allow the
management studio to work - seems stupid to me - but it is what it is.

Well, that's not true because I use Management Studio on several systems
without IIS configured. But maybe you tripped something else when you
installed IIS. <shrug>
|||You don't need to have IIS installed to run SQL Server 05 or any of it's
tools.
Your issue may be caused by conflicts with .NET framework 2.0. Try
uninstalling the 2.0 framework and then reinstalling the latest copies from
Microsoft.
Search MS knowledge base and you'll find that many users have had problems
with sql server 05 and .NET 2.0
