Hi,
My company is moving to a new dedicated server and we are making the jump to
SQL Server. To start we are going to use the shared SQL server the hosting
company offers, our DB will be on the small side and we did not want to bog
down our new dedicated server.
But the problem is, where in the world do you get Enterprise Manager from?
We are a legit company, so we would prefer not downloading a trial version
of SQL Server, letting it expire and then just use Enterprise Manager.
Is it true that Enterprise Manager comes with Office XP Developers Edition?
Does it come with any other software that MS has that our IT dept. may have,
like MS Server?
Thanks!
MitchHow are you going to develop your software?
You will probably need a local database for that.
You can buy the developer edition (which includes e-m) for about =A350 I think.|||Correct me if I am wrong, but do I not develop the Database and Tables using
Enterprise Manager which is connected to the remote SQL Server at my host?
I would then develop my ASP pages using Macromedia Ultradev.
That seems to be the very same procedure I currently use when developing
with MS Access, except that the Database and Tables are developed locally
and then uploaded to the remote hosting server.
Am I missing something?
