Enterprise Manager Stops Responding

I'm running SQL 2000 Server Standard Edition, SP4 (hotfix - 8.00.2187) on
Windows 2003 Server Standard x64 bit. Whenever I run SQL Enterprise Manager
on the server via RDP, the server stops responding. At this time, when IRDP
another session I dont get the windows login screen...all I get is grey
screen and mouse pointer....it is as if the server is hung. Most of the
times, I have no other option than hard rebooting the server.
What is wrong here?

|||When you reboot the server, do you see anything in the event log or SQL
Server error logs?

|||This can happen on SQL 2000 servers with lots of (large)tables (it has to
load all tables in memory) in combination with minimal availability of
resources and a very bussy database.
This can lead to a time- out in enterprise manager.
after you made the rdp session.Use query analyzer to connect to the database

Enterprise Manager was interupted due to the server getting rebooted. Now
when I access Enterprise manager the memory usage for SQL Server goes very
high (almost 2 Gig) and Enterprise Manager does not respond. How I can I
start to resolve the issue of the high memory and Enterprise Manager not

With luck, it was rolling back that interrupted transaction, and is
already back to normal!
How large was the table? Did you reboot the server because the
transaction was taking too long?

Enterprise Manager Hangs

Everytime I try to use the Enterprise Manager tool to
access my SQL 2000 (sp3) server on a W2K3 Enterprise
machine it hangs (stops responding). The tool loads
correctly but when I dig down the tree to get at the
instance on the local machine it stops responding when
trying to Establish the Connection and checking Windows
Security.
The server is loading and running, but I can't make any
new databases.
I can stop and start the server.
I have tried reinstalling. I have checked that the
services are running correctly.Hi, please verify permissions on folder Microsoft SQL Server.
Verify if you services account have permissions on foder MSSQL
Verify the event viewer to view if you have more messages about mssqlserver
The problem is generally by permissions

Enterprise Manager - problem

I have a problem with Enterprise Manager - when I refresh list of tables or
databases it hangs (is not responding) for long time - about 10-30 minutes.
What is more important during my refreshement users are unable to work
normally - it hangs entire server.
Some other details:
1. I am only dbo of one database with no administrative privilges.
2. There are no problems with Query Analyzer
3. Problem is related to one particular server - I don't have these
difficulties with my local instance of SQL Server.
Is there any solution of this problem?

method is to use QA instead of EM , you have to ensure latest service pack
