enumerating Foreach Loop from rowset

Please let me know if I am on the right track here.

I have an Execute SQL Task that selects multiple rows from an OLE DB connection, each row containing 3 columns (data types = string, Int32, Int32). In this task ResultSet = "Full result set" and Result Set > Result Name = 0, Variable Name = [User::viewInfo] which is a user variable with Data Type = Object.

I want to use a Foreach Loop Container to enumerate over the result set rows that are contained in the [User::viewInfo] variable described above. For each resultset row I want to breakout the 3 column values and assign them to 3 corresponding variables that can be referenced in a Data Flow in the Foreach Loop.

Current settings for the Foreach Loop Container: Collection > Enumerator = "Foreach ADO Enumerator", Collection > Enumerator Configuration > ADO object source variable = [User::viewInfo], Enumeration mode = "Rows in the first table". On the Variable Mappings page I select the 3 corresponding user variables I want the rowset column values assigned to, with indexes starting at 1 (not 0).

Thanks - Dana Reed

It sounds spot on to me Dana!

Enterprise Mgr - Register server with multiple logins?

How can I register the same SQL Server more than once in
Enterprise Manager, using multiple logins?
"A server with this name already exists."
I'd expect this to be a FAQ, but twenty minutes of
googling it has turned up precious little by way of
remedies. This should be a pretty garden-variety
situation: I need to access multiple databases on a single
SQL Server, some of which require a different login from
others. I've added a new server group for the additional
instance/connection/registration, but every attempt to
register the server returns "A server with this name
already exists."
This is a simple thing to accomplish in Query Analyzer,
but I need some of Enterprise Manager's functionality.
Obviously, I could keep deleting and re-registering every
time I need to change context, but that's a pretty tedious
kludge, or I wouldn't be writing this post, you know?
Anyways, is there a hack?
Thanks much.
Create an alias to the SQL Server within the Client Network Utility (within
the SQL Server program group) and then register that alias within Enterprise
Manager.

quick and straightforward solution (...which is probably why I didn't arrive
at it on my own! heh.)
Thanks.

Enterprise Manager Tape Backup issue

I have multiple failed backups jobs through the enterprise manager. I have an
event id 9 "\device\scis\aic78u21 did not respond within the timeout period"
and event id 15 "\device\tape0 is not ready for access yet." The aic78u21 is
the scsi controller and only appeared once. Since then, I have had multiple
event id 15. However I did boot up into the scsi utility and teh dlt tape
device is listed in the utility with scsi id 3, and the controler listed as
scsi id 7. I then ran a ntbackup job on a new media set and it ran fine.
However the scheduled jobs within enterprise manager still will not run. Our
SQL admin is no longer with us, and myself and another have been tasked with
the SQL admin, so we are both leery of making any changes that might have bad
reprecussions later. I thought about deleting and adding the tape device back
into the enterprise manager, but I'm wondering if it is a media set issue.
What do you think?
I forgot to mention that the device does show up in device manager with the
questions marks in the other devices category. Is this due to the device
running off of the scsi controller drivers?

Enterprise Manager Shortcuts for Remote Servers

Hello and thank you in advance.
I have multiple databases on a single remote MSSQL server (from my ISP). I
can only access them via Enterprise Manager. My quandary is that every time
I log in, I have to click the server name, then wait for the database to
load, then sift through this enormous list to find the database I am seeking.
I'd like to have shortcuts to each specific database so I can connect and
get to the tables with one click.
Anyone know how to do this?
Thanks,
JulianHi Julian,
Do you have restriction for using Query Analyzer also? If not, while
configuring the client ODBC, you can specify the default database you wish to
connect to.

Thanks
Yogish|||Thank you for your reply. I don't think I have a restriction for Query
Analyzer, but I am a novice at best and am only barely qualified to use
Enterprise Manager.
Does this mean I'd have to switch to Query Analyzer or are you suggesting
that I can use Query Analyzer to store my default database and somehow tie
that back to using Enterprise Manager? It puzzles me why Enterprise Manager
doesn't allow you to store a default database for each SQL Server
Registration.

You can do lot of operations with Query Analyzer (QA). If you are using SQL
Server 2000 client, you can use Object Browser to access all the database
objects, provided you have the permission.
Check out Books online.
